Software Integration Engineer 2, 3 or 4 (Clearance Required)

Required Clearance:  Active Security Clearance required at the Top Secret (TS)/Special Compartmented Information (SCI) level and appropriate level Polygraph


Provides expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

Task Required Skills:
  • Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
  • Experience using the Unix command line
  • Experience performing Unix System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS software tools and packages
  • Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
  • Familiar with software frameworks used for searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data such as Elastic Stack and Splunk
  • Familiar with metrics visualization technologies such as Grafana and Kibana
  • Experience with creating and automating installation/configuration procedures
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
 
Task Desired Skills:
  • Familiar with testing various processing, storage, and retrieval systems using backend databases such as MySQL, Elasicsearch, MongoDB 
  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Familiar with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
SIE2 capabilities:
  • Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
  • Generate documentation for the full software stack.
  • Update software for sustainment support.
  • Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.
  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
SIE3 capabilities:
  • Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
  • Generate documentation for the full software stack.
  • Update software for sustainment support.
  • Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.
  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
  • Provide software product ownership for HPC tools.
  • Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.
SIE4 capabilities:
  • All abilities of the Level III SIE.
  • Develop software tool plugins in the language in which the tools are written.
  • Determine the optimal, or best available, HPC configuration for customer needs.

SIE2 Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field aplus 6 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
- 5 years full time Computer Science directly related work can be substituted for a degree plus 6 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

SIE3 Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 8 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment
- 5 years full time Computer Science directly related work can be substituted for a degree plus 8 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
- Industry professional certification may be substituted for 1 year everpience.
- Master's degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience

SIE4 Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 10 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment
- 5 years full time Computer Science directly related work can be substituted for a degree plus 10 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
- Industry professional certification may be substituted for 1 year everpience.
- Master's degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience
